A Perfect Day

A post by Greta

This is a long overdue post from the day we went to Detroit Zoo.
I tried to look up the word "perfect" in Webster's dictionary just to see what the official meaning is. In my world, perfect means no whining. Loud laughing and happy screaming are fine, but constant whining drains every bit of energy out of me. Our day at the Zoo was perfect. It was a gorgeous 74 degrees with a clear blue sky. We met our family friends from the lake: Lisa, Kenzie, Logan and Floyd (the human). For once, adults/older children outnumbered the dynamic trio. It was such a relief that there were enough hands to push strollers, hold hands and just skip along the beautiful pathways. I have been to the Detroit Zoo often, but this time it was different. I saw so many unusual things that I think excited me more than the kids. We hand fed the giraffes, watched zebras make babies right in front of us (yes, Gabbie did ask that question in the innocent 2.5 year old voice, "mommy, what are they doing?"), watched kangaroos hop next to us, fed a joey and hung out in the underwater polar bear exhibit for almost an hour. The kids lasted from 10 am until 4:30pm without a nap and NO whinning the entire day. Thats MY Dinamic Trio. I only wish that every day was similar to that one.

That was so cute, I especially liked the music and the graphic picture of the zebras.

You have no idea how much I loved to watch that. It was a perfect day for us too! Thank you for sharing your kids with us to let my "big kids" see the zoo through "little kids" eyes. I can't wait to show this to Logan and Mackenzie! Lisa

Awww, I miss you all!! And I loved the music, it reminded me of singing the wiggles on the boat two summers ago! (:
