Gabbie's First Bottle

Today, I had the privilege of feeding Gabbie her first bottle. This is a big step towards having her feeding tube removed. She did pretty well, finishing about half of the bottle in addition to nursing twice. Everyone else was quiet, which is a great thing. Niklas's spinal fluid was clear in color today as opposed to the yellowish color it was yesterday which is indicative of infection. The doctors here are really amazing, and never take any chances. One of the nurses made a comment on here yesterday saying to celebrate the move to the step down unit as it is closer to the elevator. It's true and it is really starting to feel like the babies are going to come home sometime soon, and at this point it looks to be about 3 weeks for Gabbie and 4-5 weeks for the other two. What scares me is that the NICU staff is not coming home with them.

YAY GABBIE!!! I'm so glad to see everyone making such tremendous progress. I can't believe Gabbie will be home in just a few weeks. Don't worry about not having the nurses with you when they come home, mom can just move in with you...maybe even dad too!

YOU GO GIRL! Jason, don’t worry about being home. You know you have a Privet Nurse in your Mom, and a Privet Nurse with Triplet training in Mari Lee! Also, Caleen, Dani, & Wendie [now home] have Triplet Support Training from the set at our church! You & Greta ARE SET!

Don't worry Jason; grandma will help you out. It's not as daunting as it looks. The picture is so sweet; I can't stop looking at them. Can't wait to hold them. Keep up the good work; you and Greta and all the prayers are why they are doing so well.

Mom and Dad,
Wow, 3 weeks. It will nice to be home. I've heard so much about it. I hear we have a dog and a walk out basement. Cool! It will be nice to get a break from the boys. I like them but they are dirty and have cooties. Who is this Kevin charecter that I keep hearing about? He sounds cute! Anyway, thanks for everything
Love your darling daughter,
Gabbie

They are GORGEOUS and so darn cute & adorable! Check out those cheeks on Gabbie! Jason looks much more rested & relaxed too...you both have weathered the storm and will have a home full of laughs and giggles soon (even a few barks too). Floyd is doing great but I am sure he will be over the moon to have so many play-mates! He can never get enough attention & cuddles--he'll have his paws full soon! The Edwards Family xx
